Since consolidating with Overton Habitat in 2017, Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity has been busy building a volunteer and donor base to better serve the community of Overton County.
Several neighborhood clean-up days called “Rock the Block” have been held in Livingston to assist homeowners with trash removal and lawn care needs. In 2021 UCHFH joined a family and dozens of volunteers to build an affordable and energy efficient home on Thomas Road; the sixth Habitat home built in Overton County. A lot has been purchased for the seventh home for this community and construction is scheduled to begin in 2024.
In 2022 the inaugural "Race to Build Hope" was hosted in Livingston to raise funds for additional projects in Overton County. In April 2023 the race route was adjusted to include the Historic Square in Livingston.
Additional volunteers and donors are needed to sustain the ministry’s work in Overton County.
