Upper Cumberland Habitat’s Legacy Builders recognizes those individuals who have chosen to leave a lasting charitable legacy in the Upper Cumberland by including UC Habitat in their will, trust or estate plan.

Legacy Builders honors its individual members’ charitable passions while establishing its members as philanthropic role models in our community.

Estate planning is an important way for those who have lived in a community to provide for its future. By entrusting gifts to your chosen UC Habitat fund, you can ensure that your contributions will be used wisely to address future community needs and that your personal legacies will be extended far beyond your lifetime.

We want to recognize donors, provide opportunities for members to learn more about the community’s needs, and better connect with UCHFH programs, staff, and services.

Types of Planned Giving:

Gifts made through a bequest in a will or trust are not the only means of becoming a member of Legacy Builders. Other ways in which donors can apply personal resources toward the betterment of their community through Legacy Builders include:

How to Join

Only a statement of intent to leave a gift to UC Habitat is required. No documentation of gift amount or type is necessary. Legacy Builders members may designate the use of the distributions from their future gifts or may leave the distributions to the discretion of our Board of Directors.

​A Legacy Builders gift may be used to establish a new fund or may be added to any of UC Habitat’s existing funds:

• New Home Build
• Land Acquisition
• Senior Repair Program
• Advocacy/Outreach
• Operational Fund

If you’ve already included UC Habitat for Humanity in your will or we are a named beneficiary of a retirement account or insurance plan, we encourage you to let us know so that we may honor you as a member of Legacy Builders.
