Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity (UCHFH) Critical Repair Program offers home repair services to low income, disabled, senior, and veteran homeowners who are struggling to maintain their homes.
The Critical Repair Program focuses on assisting homeowners to remain in their current homes by partnering with them to offer necessary repairs and/or projects which are vital to their ability to remain in the home.
Rooted in the mission and vision of Habitat for Humanity International, this approach not only aims to maintain access to decent, affordable housing, but also seeks to improve neighborhoods and quality of life and connections within communities
A Hand Up, Not a Hand Out: The Critical Repair Program offers volunteer or subcontracted labor at no cost to qualified homeowners. The homeowner must agree to remain in their home for a duration of five (5) years after repair or project completion to receive the services at no cost. The Critical Repair Program is NOT an emergency repair program. Homeowners requesting help must apply and be approved for the program prior having repairs/projects scheduled.
Applications will be accepted the first two weeks of February and August each year and applicants will be notified of status once all completed applications have been processed.
If you have further questions please call Stacy at 931-528-1711 x5.
