The Jacobs Family
Kayla Jacobs and her three children, Mia, Trevor and Collin are excited about the idea of buying their own affordable Habitat home. Kayla is a Corrections Officer with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Working nights so she can still be involved in her children’s lives, Kayla has already started on her sweat equity hours.
“My kids are so excited about this home,” Kayla said. “They all wish they could help me build it! But I reminded them they are helping by getting good grades in school.”
Kayla was living with her children in a home that had several problems, a rotting floor was the major issue. She recently moved in with her parents, hoping to have a safer environment until her Habitat home is built. Although they are very crowded, Kayla is trying to make the best of the situation. Kayla grew up in Cookeville and can’t wait to put down roots at West End Place.
